UCSD Graduate

Wow. I must say, it feels pretty weird to be DONE with college. While I still have plenty of things to take care of in the next couple of weeks, I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have any immediate deadlines – whether they were for work, school, or whatever. And it feels pretty damn good. After my last final yesterday I went outside and just sat in the hot tub with one of my roomates for nearly an hour enjoying the increasingly pleasant Southern California weather (it’s been getting a lot warmer at night these last few days). And while I am super-excited to be so close to moving to Japan, I’ve realized that I really will miss living with these guys – I love my condo here, and I don’t think I’ve ever got along with a set of roomates as well as I do with these two. So many memories – from being jumped on by a drunken Ron at 4am while I’m resting up before a midterm to BBQ’ing steaks on the patio at midnight to learning how to surf at Blacks Beach for the first time. Ah yes, college had some fun times. I can only hope that my “college” experience in Japan will be nearly as enjoyable…and maybe, if I’m lucky, the group will move back in together when Ron and Nick graduate, and when I get back from abroad 🙂
