Malaysia may be a lush, green country – but sadly, from what I saw much of its natural greenery has been hacked away and replaced by vast plantations of palms.
Not so in Singapore.
The four-lane highway we entered just moments after crossing the border – in addition to being flawlessly maintained and litter-free – wound beneath such lush vegetation I almost felt like I’d been driven into a rainforest. Sitting on the same latitude line as the northern Amazon in Brazil and the Congo Basin in Africa, Singapore is about as tropical as it gets – with a climate fluctuating from “hot to hotter” and “really humid to unbelievably humid.”
Honestly, I had no idea Singapore was so lush. But I guess it does make sense, considering that it’s damp and rainy pretty much all year round 😛
