What the hell is this? Are you serious? 90 yen to the dollar?

Give me a freakin’ break.

I’ve officially moved out of my Kyoto apartment and am once again living out of a backpack.

For the next week I’ll be staying with various friends around Kyoto and Osaka until Peder and I catch our boat to Korea on the evening of November 3rd. I’ll remain in Seoul for roughly two weeks, making my way over to China sometime around the 18th.

As always, I’ll do my best to keep you updated on my wherabouts, but ‘net access may be spotty for the next month or so. The most reliable way to way to find out where I am is via the Current Location box on the front page – I tend to update it whenever I have internet access, certainly not something I do with blog posts themselves 😉

One week left in Japan. Time for one most fun holidays I’ve ever experienced.

Halloween in Kansai.

Photos will follow…

  1. I was a bit worried about the exchange rate too as I just bought my plane ticket back to Japan a few days ago. Thankfully it’s back up to 97 yen / dollar. Still not great, but helluva lot better 90…

  2. Well, 97 is still pretty damn pathetic considering it was like 120 when I was working here. Plus 97 really means more like 95, based on what you get from the banks when you actually change your money…

  3. I think it was as low as 87 a few years ago. Sad though, it was like 250 yen to the dollar in the early eighties.

  4. good luck on your travels! 🙂

  5. Travel safe. Looking forward to the pix.
