I FINALLY got copies of the original video files from last quarter’s big final game demo!
For those of you who don’t know (and haven’t checked out my projects page), last quarter I was one of the students fortunate enough to be accepted into UCSD’s video game development senior project course. Groups of 6 programmers (in the case of our group, 4 programmers) were given 10 weeks to design and implement from scratch a 3D realtime online multiplayer game. It was the most fun and DEFINITELY the hardest class I’ve ever taken…and at the end of it, I got to present my project (along with the other 4 groups) in front of about 200 people and a live video crew. Eep! Here’s a video of that presentation.
I should also mention that during the presentation, I somehow managed to neglect to introduce perhaps the most important member of our team, Andrew Strauss. Where I was responsible for the overall design of the client-side of the game, Andrew was in charge of the server-side. He wrote all of the networking code and did a fantastic job at pulling together Nakul and Chris’ code to produce a working server application. He even helped me WRITE my speech for the presentation! Thanks for the awesome work Andy…had I only been a more experienced public speaker I would NEVER have left out your name!
