Spent the whole day cruisin’ Kyoto today…saw another Maiko, and this time she was RIGHT up close. Wow, are they ever pretty. Just to clarify on my previous post, a geiko is a geisha, and a maiko is a geisha-in-training. I do NOT know any geisha named Maiko or Geiko 🙂
I also saw the giant temple from the Last Samurai (the one where Ken Watanabe so enjoyed his conversations with Mr. Cruise), a ton of new Engrish, and, well, lots of cool stuff. Unfortunately like the genius I am I brought both my camcorder and digicam with me today, but forgot both my compact flash card and MiniDV tapes. Bah!
