Dude! You make me want to go to Japan and study Japanese in Kyoto! Right now I’m in Seoul, Korea, just landed a new job teaching English at a good university, so I’ll be here for at least a year. I am amazed at your determination and self discipline when it comes to your studies or work. I couldn’t force myself to study for hours like that. I’m more the go out and learn by doing type. I left Deloitte and joint Mercer Consulting last September. 85% of my time is to deal with Japanese clients…..Big challenge for me as well!

Hi ya.
I’m a norwegian student whose about to go on an exchange semester in Japan. I’m leaving in three weeks! Never been to Japan before, and though I’m a pinch sceptical (to say the least) about the food and the squatting toilets, I am soo looking forward to it.
I’m actually going to study japanese and marketing at APU in Beppu 🙂

Anyway, what I’d like to say is thank you so much for this beautiful blog! You really calmed my nerves! Well, apart from the “NO english” bit, but I guess I’ll work that out.

If you have the time, I would be really grateful if you could just slip me some tips on where to stay and what to do in Tokyo, Kyoto and Fukuoka, seeing it that I’m going for a little roundtrip by myself upon arriving Japan…

Btw: You ever tried natto? Any good?
