I finally got around to doing something I’ve been wanting to do for over a year; I edited together an “overall video” of some of the cool sights I saw during my fourteen-month stay in Japan.

You can view it by following this link.

The clips were filmed in Amanohashidate, Aso, Biwako, Himeji, Kyoto, Nara, Nikko, Osaka, Tokushima, and Tokyo (with the vast majority in Kyoto). The song is a slightly edited “Naniwa Iroha Bushi” by “Kanjani 8.” (関ジャニ∞~浪花伊呂波節)

I hope you like it…even though it’s only 2.5 minutes, it took me forever to put together. Let me know what you think! 🙂

  1. i loved it. wish there were sub-titles.

  2. Excellent video, I need to find another machine to watch it (no audio for whatever reason). I can’t wait to get back to Japan…in a year or so I think I will be there.

  3. I like the song but can’t find it on my usual sources… about emailing me the mp3 🙂

  4. Aunt V: Thanx! Actually, the lyrics have nothing to do w/ the video though, I just love the song & the “feel” seemed to fit 🙂

James: Oh no! Ya gotta watch it with the music! That’s the only reason it took me forever to make…getting the shots to match up 😛

Andy: No prob, Bob. Check ur e-mail.

  5. JUSTIN. I have decided to celebrate your imminent arrival back in The Homeland in a most Justin-tacular fashion I can think of: I’m going surfing. This weekend Heather and I hit the beaches of Shikoku for sun, sand, surf, and a Hawaiin beach party with the locals. When are you getting here? HURRY.

  6. Thanks. It brings back many memories.

  7. Justin! I finally got around to trying to rewatch the video (this time on my new shiny macbook pro) and the music…awesome! makes the video for sure! The video reminded me of something that I would see in a grade school video on Japanese culture, like in the intro, right before it says in a national geographic voice “JAPAN – The land of the Rising sun *interesting factoid about Japan*”.

Are you back in Japan yet/getting closer ?

  8. Dylan: Awesome! I read all about it on your blog. I just hope I can get enough time off of work to join you one of these days 😀

James: Still not back, but it’s getting closer….muuuch closer 😉
