Merry Christmas

December 25, 2005 in Japan

imageMe with some of my best friends and little sister at my mom’s house for Christmas in 2002. Noz, me, Jeff, Gary, Shahin, and Julia.

Having only two clean pairs of underwear left, this morning I decided it was time to do some laundry. I went out onto my balcony and switched on the washing machine. Water failed to flow.

I unscrewed the hose connecting the machine to the water supply. I heard a crack. Some chunks of ice fell out of the hose.

D’oh!

imageMy mom’s side of the family in New Orleans for Christmas 2003. To the far left is Dan, the birthday boy, sporting his ceremonial red fanny-pack.

Just a short “Merry Christmas” to everyone out there, and a simultaneous “Happy Birthday” to my stepdad back in LA. I think this is the first Christmas I’ve ever been apart from my family, and even though I’ve been living half-way across the world for the past year it doesn’t mean that I love or think about them any less.

To everyone, I hope you have an awesome day.

imageJust trying to get jiggy with the Asian-style of photo taking. Please compare the size of my bowl to Betty’s.

This year I spent mine at I-house, enjoying a nice Potlock dinner featuring everything from French roast duck to Korean noodles to Chinese sea snails to British chocolates. International-house never fails to live up to its name.

After dinner we stayed up watching The Chronicles of Narnia until 3:30am.

I shall re-iterate yesterday’s closing statement: “Ahh, winter vacation. Me love you long time.”

Justin,

Merry Jesusmas to you too! How was Naria? I want to get some feedback before I downlo.. er, I mean “go to the movies and watch” it. I’m also going to see King Kong (yeah, I STILL haven’t seen it) and Munich soon. Also, yes, a very Happy Birthday to Dan! I’m gonna give him a call later.

So, Merii Kurisumasu and Akemashite omedetou!

I got that from: http://japanese.about.com/

We’re all thinking about you and wish you all the best back in the good ole’ U.S. of A. Have a great holiday break and I’ll talk to you soon.

Wow, judging from how skinny you are in that first pic, that must have been freshman year of college?

Justin,

Three things:

1. It’s soooooo funny, I was JUST looking at that picture of us on my laptop like 2 days ago and BAM! There it is again. I’ve got a bunch of pics I can either email, AIM, or mail on CD to you. Let me know which is best.

2. Juice? where did that nickname come from?

3. If you ever… EVER… do that weird asian peace sign in a picture again, and you’re NOT indicating the number of times you’ve played sports, I will fly there and kick your butt :P

Your comrade in revolution,

Shahin

P.S. Please do the entire world a favor and let everyone in Asian countries know that the 60’s are over and the peace sign thing isn’t cool… unless you’re Ken from Street Fighter II which in the case you’re a digital creation of Capcom and you therefore cannot be held accountable for your actions although Capcom can and they shall receive papers for a class action lawsuit for infringing upon the trademark of hippies from 1965 to 1975.
